Toronto Hydro Business Incentive Program - Save Power, Make Money

The Business Incentive Program encourages and rewards energy-efficient renovations to commercial buildings. Under this program, Toronto Hydro-Electric System offers incentives to owners and operators of commercial buildings 25,000 square feet or less. These include multi-use, commercial, office, retail, restaurant, convenience store, grocery store, hotel properties, etc.

Projects involving commercial buildings greater than 25,000 square feet require consent from the Ontario Power Authority.

Incentive is also available, and there is no building size restriction, for industrial facilities and multiple-residential buildings.

Toronto Hydro-Electric System strongly promotes electricity conservation by implementing a variable incentive scale. Generally, projects that achieve greater peak kW savings will receive higher incentives. The incentives range from $150/kW to $350/kW.

The proposed project should result in a minimum of 3 kW of peak load reduction or have a minimum total incentive value of $450.00. Get the BIP application forms here.
